Bull Run Middle School Designated 2014 School of Excellence
Our students have the distinction of attending a newly named PWCS School of Excellence. This is the 3rd consecutive year Bull Run Middle School has earned the coveted title. Bull Run Middle School has earned the distinction of School of Excellence 7 times since opening in the fall of 2002.

School of Excellence is the highest recognition awarded to schools by the PWCS School Board. It signifies high levels of performance on state accreditation, Annual Measurable Objectives, and in moving toward the goals of the Division’s Strategic Plan.

Congratulations to everyone who helped to earn this important indicator of student success.

Office 365 for Students
In January, all 7th grade students will be activating their Microsoft Office 365 accounts. Once activated, students will have access to email as well as online versions of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, and OneNote which they can utilize at school or at home. In addition, students will have 5 licenses to download MS Office 2013 on their home computers, laptops, cell phones, and/or tablets. "Sibshops" Event for Siblings of Children with Special Needs

Rising 9th Grade Parent Info Night: Jan 27
Battlefield High School will host a Rising 9th Grade Parent Info Night on Tuesday, January 27, at 7:00 pm in the BHS auditorium. This transition meeting is for all parents of 8th graders who will attend Battlefield next year. In case of inclement weather, the snow date for this event is Tuesday, February 3 at 7:00pm in the BHS auditorium.
Coat Drive
BRMS Eagle Ambassadors will be sponsoring a Coat Drive from January 20th - January 31st.  Please bring your gently used coats, sweatshirts, sweaters, gloves and mittens (no hats, please).  Drop boxes will be available in each hallway.
Spelling Bee
It is once again time for the Bull Run Middle School Spelling Bee!  This is a great opportunity for the students who participate to expand their vocabulary, while competing for a spot in the 37th Annual Prince William County Regional Spelling Bee.  The Regional Bee winner will move on to compete in the 2015 Scripps National Spelling Bee in June in Washington D.C.

The winner and alternate for the Bull Run Spelling Bee will win a FREE one-year subscription to Britannica Online for Kids (a $69.95 value) Congratulations and best wishes to all spelling bee participants!

American Red Cross Blood Drive Scheduled
Bull Run Middle School will be hosting a blood drive in association with the American Red Cross on Wednesday, February 4th from 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm.  We have a chance to make a big difference in the lives of people right here in Northern Virginia.  Every three seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion, yet less than 4% of those eligible to give blood do so!  Please join in the fight to save lives by taking part in the American Red Cross blood drive.

Concussion Seminars for 2014-15
All 6th graders and all new students to the county must complete a concussion seminar in person in order to try-out for a sport. The following are the dates for the seminars for the 2014-15 school year:
March 17th - 6:00

The online seminar is available to those students and parents who have completed the in-person seminar the previous year. You must print the certificate and turn it in to Mr. Bianco, Athletic Coordinator for Bull Run.

Yearbook presales are now underway.  The 2015 BRMS yearbook costs $30.  Pre-ordering a yearbook guarantees that you receive a book.  Print off an order form here and follow the directions on the form.

Attendance Line
Bull Run Middle School has an automated Attendance Phone Line that you can use to call in any student absences. Simply dial 703-753-7125, and leave a message including the first and last name of the student (with spelling), the student's grade level, your relationship to the student, and reason for missing school. If your student is out sick, please indicate the doctor’s diagnosis or the symptoms your student is having. Thank you! 

Parent Portal
Bull Run Middle School staff members are available to collect parent portal forms in the front office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Parents need to show a photo id and give the signed form (emailed to them within 3 days of initial registration) to a front office staff member to have their account activated.  More information on this process can be found by clicking on the "Parent Portal" tab on the left side of the front page of this website.
