Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP), to assist parents with basic parenting issues (also taught in Spanish), 

Living Apart Parenting Together (LAPT)), to encourage parents to work out custody and child support situations without putting their children in the middle, and

Keys to Success in Middle School:

  • Get organized- find a system that works with your learning style
  • Use your agenda every day- keep track of due dates, assignments, and school events
  • Create a homework routine- designate a specific time and place to do homework and be consistent
  • Keep up with assignments- don't put things off until the last minute, give yourself enough time to do your best work
  • Ask for help- if you're feeling behind talk to your teacher
  • Have homework buddies- identify and get the phone numbers of two students in each class that you can call if you're confused about an assignment or missed a class day of
  • Get involved- join a Bull Run student group, club, or sport
